Polypropylene or PP, is a thermoplastic polymer that can show different tactics. The most important characteristic is that of isotatticity, which means that the material is a semi-crystalline polymer characterized by a high tensile strength, a low density and a good resistance to both heat and abrasion.

The density of isotactic polypropylene is 900 kg/m³ and the melting point is often over 165°C. The chemical properties, determined at the production stage, include stereoregularity, molecular mass and polydispersion index.
